This popular manual coffee grinder has a solid 4+ star rating with nearly 400 customer reviews at the time of this writing.
With this many reviews I will discuss what features they like the most and the least. With that rating, there are many more positives than negatives.
The feature that most people liked the most was the ability to grind coffee as coarse or as fine as they liked. Although a few mentioned that if you want the very finest grind it can take a while. The sealed bottom does allow you to keep the ground coffee fresh until you are ready to brew it. It holds 110 g of coffee.
I keep mentioning coffee because e that is what most people grind the most, but it will also grind spices and seeds. The ceramic grinding part will never rust and stays sharp indefinitely.
People liked the rubber base on the bottom which helps keep it from sliding. But others still complained that it was still difficult to hold steady when grinding. Unfortunately ,this is a problem that you will encounter with most manual coffee grinders. One user who gave it a low rating said this was the only feature that kept him from giving it a much higher rating, but was still going to keep it.
They like that it is easy to take apart and clean. One said she used a toothbrush to clean the grinding part to ensure the old grind was completely removed. You don’t want things left over from the last time you used it, as this will not be fresh like your new grind.
Some mentioned that it is so easy to get the kind of grind you desire compared to the electric models. A few people said that if you want to grind a large amount of coffee at one time, perhaps an electric model might be a better choice. So here are two opinions that say the best coffee grinder for you will depend on how you plan to use it.
One person complained about it being noisier than they expected. Not sure what that means with a manual grinder, but it shows the many different views of the same gadget. I always find it interesting that the things people like about this Kyocera coffee grinder is the same thing that others don’t like. Whether that is how easy it is to operate and get the grind you desire or the ease of cleaning it. So I mention these to show that different people expect different things from the same grinder. The video below shows many of the features (and it is pretty noisy).
Another handy feature of this one is the top part was made to also work on a quart Mason jar. A handy feature in case you happen to break the glass bottom that comes with the unit. A jar might fit your hand better than the bulb shape if you have a small hand.
